Description

In winter there is a great winter hiking trail around the small and large Staffen, which is perfectly groomed when there is enough snow and offers fantastic views of the surrounding Chiemgau mountains with the Kampenwand and Gedererwand and the Bavarian Sea. The easy, around 5 km long panorama tour is ideal for families, connoisseurs and seniors. From the mountain station of the Hochplattenbahn, first follow the signs to the Staffen mountain forest adventure trail in the “via forest road” variant. After a large open area on the right, the actual circular route begins. A stop at the Staffn-Alm is recommended for the perfect end. The tour starts at the mountain station of the Hochplattenbahn. If you want, you can also start the hike directly at the valley station. If there is enough snow, you can use the natural toboggan run, which is around 3.5 kilometers long, on the way back down to the valley – a highlight for young and old alike! Toboggans can be hired from the Hochplattenbahn. Alternatively, you can take the chairlift back down to the valley.
