Refreshment stops: Rachl Alm, Hefter AlmThe hike to the Grassauer Almen begins at the Hochplattenbahn car park. After approx. 1 km the path to the Hochplatte branches off to the left, but we continue straight ahead in the direction of Rachl-Alm. The path first leads mainly through the forest, crosses the route of the Hochplattenbahn and the view then becomes clearer until we reach the Rachl-Alm at 920 meters via an open pasture area. Traditional snacks as well as coffee and cake are offered. To the north, the path continues past the Hufnagel-Alm and, via a narrow meadow path, you soon reach the Hefter-Alm at an altitude of 880 metres. The delicious delicacies also invite you to make a snack here. We hike down a shady forest path to the former Strehtrupp inn and can enjoy the beautiful view of the moor and Lake Chiemsee. Shortly after the property, a hiking sign points to the right in the direction of the valley station of the Hochplattenbahn. The path leads through the forest on a beautiful mountain path over the Zeppelinhöhe to a stream that has to be crossed at the so-called upper Torgraben. Follow the hiking sign to the left in the direction of the Hochlattenbahn, valley station downhill. Past the Chiemsee viewpoint, the fairy tale adventure park and Niedernfels Castle, the hike leads back to the starting point.
