Achental hiking needle Checkpoints: Achberg, Chiemhauser-Alm, Streichen Description: The path towards Chiemhauser-Alm starts from the Achberg car park. The forest road leads past the Haider Alm and a bench with a wonderful view of the Petereralm and the Kaiser Mountains. We continue past the Donauer-Alm. After a right turn, you should look to the right towards the Schleching mountains and pause for a moment. After 5 minutes you reach your destination, the picturesque Chiemhauser Alm, which invites you to take a break. The way back passes the Donauer-Alm again and leads in front of the Haider-Alm to the left in the direction of Streichen, past the Peterer-Alm to the Streichen mountain inn or the Streichen Church of St. Servatius with fresco paintings and a Gothic altar. The Streichenkirche, the view to the south to the Wilder Kaiser and the view to the north over the Achental and the Geigelstein are terrific.
