Achental hiking pass

Go hiking, collect points, pin your hiking pin!

Collect points while mountaineering and hiking and redeem them at the end of your vacation for a hiking pin in bronze, silver, gold or oak leaves.

You can get your personalized hiking pass at all tourist information offices in the Achental communities. The hiking pass is not transferable, but is valid indefinitely for several vacation stays.

Control points

With every route you complete, you earn points which are noted in the hiking pass. At the checkpoints, you can prove the distance you have covered by entering the code provided. The checkpoints marked on the map each have a combination of letters and numbers. This must be entered in the Achental hiking pass as proof (don’t forget the pen). There are over 90 checkpoints throughout the Achental. The number of points for each route depends on the course of the route. The trails can lead you along tranquil circular paths or up to lofty heights over mountain peaks.

Hiking pin:

As a reward for your efforts, you will receive the popular Achental hiking pins, which vary depending on the number of points you have achieved:

Bronze: 10 points
Silver: 20 points
Gold: 40 points
Oak leaves: 80 points

Children up to the age of 12, people with disabilities and guests over the age of 60 receive a 20% bonus on the points already earned.

If you take part in a guided hike, you will receive 3 points as a bonus.

The Achental hiking badges are awarded in the participating tourist information offices in the Achental.

Important information:

  • The Achental Hiking Pass is not transferable; its validity is not limited. Each destination on the overview map can only be scored once.
  • Please note the markings in the terrain, which correspond to the information in the detailed Achental hiking maps. White rings on trees indicate forest boundaries. Markings with three numbers on red-white-red signs are designations of the Alpine Club. The letter and number combinations at the checkpoints are not hiking trail markings.
  • Never deviate from the path or take shortcuts.
  • Urgent advice: Make sure you wear good footwear and weatherproof clothing, especially on longer hikes or mountain tours. Even in summer, the weather can suddenly turn cold.
  • Always tell your host where you are going. The decision to turn back in good time is the hallmark of a “proper” mountaineer.
