Stoibenmöseralm

The cozy Stoibenmöseralm is located on a long plateau above Reit im Winkl. An alpine hut is said to have stood on this spot as early as the 13th century – today’s beautiful alpine building was built in 2009. The geological location offers a wonderful panoramic view from Lake Chiemsee to the main Alps. At 1,240 meters, hikers can enjoy Bavarian cosiness with a refreshing drink and a hearty snack. The culinary specialties include organic farmer’s bread baked in a stone oven, spicy cracklings, homemade sliced cheese, and regional bacon and hard cheese. In autumn, the farm’s own llamas graze around the alpine pasture. The Stoibenmöseralm, which has been in the hands of the Stoibhof family since the 16th century, can be reached from various directions.

• Open daily from mid-May to October 3rd. No closing day, but closed in rainy weather.

• From Kössen via the Ochsenalm and Embachalm approx. 2 hours
• From Kössen via Rinderbrachalm, Frankenalm and Dichtleralm (from here steep, narrow path) approx. 1:45 hours
