Piesenhausener Hochalm
Below the summit of the Hochplatte, the Piesenhausener Hochalm invites you to an enjoyable alpine snack with a view of the Chiemsee and the Alps.
The Piesenhausener Hochalm has been owned by the Naderbauer Hof family for more than 550 years. Two dairymaids spend the alpine summer here every year with four dairy cows, young cattle and pigs. Hikers not only enjoy a fantastic view from Lake Chiemsee over the Chiemgau Alps to the Großglockner and Großvenediger, but can also enjoy a hearty snack. The dairymaids process around 100 liters of fresh milk every day into pickled soft cheese in oil with herbs and a semi-hard mountain cheese. One of the special delicacies on the Piesenhausener Hochalm is therefore the Alm-Brotzeitteller with Almkäse as well as Almspeck and farm salami from the Naderbauer farm.
