Jochbergalmen

When hiking on the south side of the Hochgern, the Jochbergalmen invite you to take a pleasant break. At 1,274 meters, there are three neighboring alpine huts that only differ in their name. There is the Mesnerkaser, the Unterwidholzkaser and the Oberwidholzkaser. The latter stands out a little because the dairymaids here produce milk and mountain cheese in Demeter quality. The fresh alpine products such as alpine milk, butter, cream cheese and mountain cheese can be tasted directly on site. The other two Kaser also offer delicious alpine food with their own milk products and home-smoked products. If you can’t decide where to stop, just hike up to the Jochbergalmen several times and try them all. Thanks to the different routes, there is also variety in terms of hiking.

• End of May to mid-October. Unterwidholzkaser closed on Tuesdays, Oberwidholzkaser closed on Mondays.
