Discover the valley from countless different vantage points whilst doing lots of varied activities throughout the year: Enjoy the frog’s eye view of the high peaks from a rafting boat, discover places of absolute silence whilst hiking, and let the wind blow around your ears whilst cycling.

Focus on yourself and the wall whilst climbing. Share the fantastic view with numerous birds whilst gliding. Get to know the four-legged animals in summer – but in winter, you’ll only see little more than hidden tracks and pawprints in the glittering snow.

No day is like any other in the Achental valley. All you have to do is get out and experience – it doesn’t matter at what speed.

  • Marquartstein

    Marquartstein is nestled between the 1,744 meter high Hochgern and the 1,587 meter high Hochplatte next to the Tiroler Ache. The highlights of the village with around 3,260 residents are the Märchenerlebnispark, a fairytale adventure park, and the Hochplattenbahn cable car.

  • Unterwössen

    Unterwössen is situated in the heart of the Achental. Together with Oberwössen, the town has around 3,530 inhabitants. Surrounding peaks are the 1,744 meter high Hochgern, the 1,276 meter high Jochberg and the 743 meter high Balsberg. The DASSU, the German Alpine Gliding School, is located in Unterwössen.

  • Schleching

    The mountaineering village of Schleching lies at the foot of the 1,808-meter-high Geigelstein, the highest elevation in the Chiemgau. Schleching has around 1,830 residents.

  • Staudach-Egerndach

    Next to the 1,744 meter high Hochgern, the picturesque village of Staudach-Egerndach forms the gateway to the Achental. Around 1,170 people live here between Lake Chiemsee and the Chiemgau Alps.

The Achental map is here to help you find your way around the Achental quickly and easily. 

Here you will not only find the right motorway exit (A8 Übersee), but also all the important geographical points in the Achental – from Lake Chiemsee to the national border to Austria. Although the valley with its villages Unterwössen, Marquartstein, Schleching and Staudach-Egerndach offers enough activities and sights for numerous holidays, it’s also a good location for excursions to Munich, Salzburg, northern Chiemgau or Austria. Countless other sights can be reached quickly and easily as well.
